Last week he took on the NCAA and told them that if they didn’t like the way Jerseyguys do things, they could take their championships and play somewhere else.

That’s the way  New Jersey Governor Chris Christie handled the NCAA edict that said the state should not allow legalized gambling–slots, etc.–in New Jersey.  As a punishment, the NCAA said that it was moving an assortment of championship events to other venues–outside of New Jersey.

This week, Christie has a new tougher opponent, Hurricane  Sandy, which hit New Jersey with a full body blast on Monday.

How Christie handles the storm and the aftermath will greatly determine his status as leading figure in the Republican Party in 2016 and beyond.  People remember how government officials handle a storm.

We have confidence that Gov. Christie will be just fine, which is why he is our Jerseyguy of the Week.
