Big East Presidents have to decide what it is they want in a commissioner. Do they want a businessman or someone tied into the world of college athletics. My sense is they need a businessman and organized individual to make the league a success and build of the base of people who are already in the trenches at the old Big East. They need to make the most of the deal with Fox and subcontract pieces of it out to other networks. Also they need to get some PR for the soccer part of the league which is strong and make a push to sign up Johns Hopkins in lacrosse.

Sounds like the catholic league is only interested in money. Reminds me of going to church and constantly getting hit up for a second collection and then more collectors on the way out of church. Why don’t they clean up their clergy and stop worry about making money off the backs of minority athletes to help finance the burgeoning hierarchy and settlements. What a bunch of hypocrites.

The travel costs for UCONN’s non-revenue sports are destroying the entire sports programs. We have to travel all over the country and have a tiny payout. If we only made more money by being in a real conference…
